Jenny picked up a makeup brush and began dabbling in makeup over a decade ago unaware of its significance while an undergrad at UT Austin in 2005. Her world was always so set and finite, with little wiggle room for creativity hyper focused on the science degree that would make the parents proud. The very act of creating sparked something in herself to explore and led to working hands-on at a cosmetics company part time while pursuing her undergrad. Her first unexpected opportunity arose when Jenny was approached fill in super last minute makeup on her first short film “Play Land” with Ralph Smyth Entertainment. The catch she realized was she’d have to basically work nonstop for five days straight since she was already booked for work that week during the day at the makeup counter.. and the short was night shoots at a Gatti’s pizza shop after hours… at the end of that very sleepless week, something ignited within her and Jenny has not looked back ever since.
Fast forward a decade, Jenny’s makeups has been seen on major motion pictures, television shows and national commercials. Beyond her video work, Jenny attained experience in makeup for commercial print ads and lifestyle shoots as well as a roster of faces for red carpet, special events and celebrity weddings and her clientele includes hometown Austin cult movie director Robert Rodriguez.
Jenny’s truest passion is in designing and executing imaginative makeups for her directors while collaborating with all the actor, and all creative departments to get the job done beautifully, efficiently and as cost efficient as possible. Skills range in special effect and trauma makeups, airbrushing, tattoo and facial hair work on top of corrective, beauty and character makeups.
2021 was busy! Since wrapping up the final season of hit show Queen of the South at the top of the year, Jenny was drawn back to New Orleans for Chris Landon’s Netflix feature film “We Have a Ghost”, starring Jahi Di’Allo Winston, David Harbour. Tig Notaro and Jennifer Coolidge. Then jumped onto Hypnotic in her hometown of Austin Texas with Robert Rodriguez on feature film “Hypnotic” starring Alice Braga (reunion!), Ben Affleck, JD Pardo, Hala Finley and iconic William Fichner.
Jenny kicked off 2022, designing makeup for the sexy straight to series HULU show called “Tell Me Lies” home in Atlanta, Georgia. Then back to Austin, TX for Rodriguez’s “Spy Kids Armageddon” reboot w/Netflix and Spyglass starring new parents Gina Rodriguez and Zachary Levi. Rounding out the year as Gina Rodriguez’s personal on her new comedy for ABC “Not Dead Yet” back in Los Angeles.
